Senior Citizens Commission

The Senior Citizen Commission is a nine-member commission appointed by the mayor with confirmation from the council, which serves as a voice for Rockville seniors. 

The Rockville Senior Citizens Commission provides a gateway between the Mayor and Council and the city’s senior population in order to produce a welcoming and lifelong environment in Rockville.

The commission advocates for older individuals in Rockville and provides ambassadors to the senior community. The commissioners gather concerns and promote current city programs that may provide helpful solutions. Members of the commission, appointed by the Mayor and Council, are tasked with helping the city staff communicate with residents of all ages about seniors’ needs and concerns that may affect the well-being of Rockville’s diverse population. The commission also strives to represent Rockville’s seniors in city, county and State social and legislative arenas.
