Rockville Police Make Arrest in Assault and Attempted Robbery

Attack Occurred Near Metro Station

Rockville, Maryland, Jan. 19 – The Rockville City Police Department (RCPD) on Tuesday arrested a man for an assault and attempted robbery that occurred Dec. 7 near the Rockville Metro station.

A 53-year-old man was walking in the 600 block of North Stonestreet Avenue when the subject knocked him to the ground, assaulted him and attempted to remove his wallet. The victim fought back and the attacker fled on foot. The victim suffered a concussion, as well as multiple cuts and bruises.

Officers from the RCPD Street Crimes Unit located and arrested Henry Grenfell Stevenson, 23 (DOB: 10/6/93), of the 8300 block of Thoreau Drive, in Bethesda. An investigation by RCPD’s Criminal Investigation Unit found that Stevenson followed the man from the Metro station before assaulting him. Stevenson was charged with attempted robbery and second-degree assault and was released on bail.
