Journey from 'Spamalot' to 'Almost, Maine' at the F. Scott theater

Venue to Close July 24 for Construction

Rockville, Maryland, July 11 -- Enjoy a knight -- er, we mean night -- of silliness with King Arthur and company in July with Rockville Musical Theatre's production of "Monty Python's Spamalot."

Performances continue at 8 p.m., July 14, 15, 21 and 22; and at 2 p.m., July 16 and 23. Tickets cost $22, $20 for students, and seniors 62 and older.

The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre box office will be closed during construction, July 24-Aug. 7, to install new house bar lights and reinforce the roof beam, resuming normal hours on Aug. 8 (2-7 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday). Tickets for upcoming performances can always be purchased online at www.rockvillemd.gov/theatre.

The Victorian Lyric Opera Company will reopen the theater following construction work with three performances of "Chris and the Wonderful Lamp," a four-act operetta by John Philip Sousa, at 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 8 and Saturday, Sept 9; and 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 10.
Tickets are $28 for adults, $24 for seniors; and $20 for students.

Rockville Little Theatre will perform "Almost, Maine," a tale about a mythical New England town where love is in the winter air, coming and going in strange, unexpected and hilarious ways.

Performances are at 8 p.m., Sept. 22, 23, 29 and 30, with a 2 p.m. matinee Sept. 24 and Oct. 1. Tickets are $22, $20 for students, and seniors 62 and older.
