From the artist: Sixteen decorative bronze elements bring nature to the sidewalks in Rockville’s new town square. The theme of the pavers is local flora and fauna. Pedestrians will walk on the designs every day and hopefully spark an appreciation, enjoyment and understanding of our natural world. The carved and cast bronze pavers will be dispersed among the brick pavers on this street.

From the artist: This work of art is created in, and with, the sidewalk pavers. Selected pavers will be sandblasted and waterjet cut with text of different sizes and font referencing “Welcome” in many different languages. They also reflect “Historical Reminders” and “Memories,” as well as augmentation of inlaid brass elements. The new town square iterally sits on the historical intersection of the original Indian crossroads.
