Beall Avenue / Park Road Water (Phases II and III)

Purpose: This project funds the design and construction to replace 6,080 feet of steel water main with cement-lined, ductile-iron pipe from Beall Avenue and Park Road to the former Grandin Avenue tank location. Installed in 1964, this is the only steel water main in Rockville. Steel water mains are more prone to leaks, causing increased maintenance. Phase II comprises MD Route 355 between Beall Avenue and Park Road. Phase III comprises South Stonestreet Avenue to the former Grandin Avenue tank.

First Appeared in Rockville's Capital Improvement Program: Fiscal Year 1998.

Staff Contact: Department of Public Works, John Hollida, Civil Engineer II, 240-314-8500.
