Alsace Lane Stream Improvement

Purpose: This project provides funding for approximately 650 linear feet of structural stabilization to severely eroded banks near homes on Alsace Lane. This project is recommended in the Rock Creek Watershed Management Plan. The stream erosion in side or rear yards is a potential threat to several houses. Staff will work closely with the community in the concept-refinement phase to access project modifications that reduce the impact on the forest, and active and passive recreational areas. The focus will be to select a design and location that will provide sufficient stormwater control to arrest the active stream erosion, while minimizing the impact on the community's access to useable open space and minimizing tree loss.

First Appeared in Rockville's Capital Improvement Program: Fiscal Year 2001.

Staff Contact: Department of Public Works, John Scabis, Civil Engineer II, 240-314-8500.
