Rockcrest Stream Improvement

Purpose: This project funds 4,000 linear feet of stream restoration to correct moderate erosion in Rockcrest Park and repair several storm drain outfalls. Additionally, the downstream headwall and stream banks along the Rockcrest Tributary at Ardennes and Aleutian Avenues, and the upstream headwall and stream banks at Atlantic Avenue will be reconstructed. This project is recommended in the Rock Creek Watershed Study. Localized erosion spots along the stream through Rockcrest Park need stabilization to protect the adjacent asphalt trail and basketball court.

First Appeared in Rockville's Capital Improvement Program: Fiscal Year 2001.

Staff Contact: Department of Public Works, John Scabis, Civil Engineer II, 240-314-8500.
