Open Climb is the place to be! Tuesdays 7 to 9 p.m.

Beginners are welcome to come and climb—you'll get belayed by the staff. Experienced climbers come on down and belay your partners. Everyone is welcome at Open Climbing Nights
from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cost: $10 per climber.

We are looking for staff members for part-time work. Staff must be responsible, outgoing, and love rock climbing. All training is provided.

Child/Parent Class (ages 7-12)
7-9 p.m., second Monday of every month (check RockEnroll for course dates).

Children will be taught the basics of climbing, while parents are taught to belay. This course will provide necessary instruction to allow parents to bring their children to Open Climbing Nights. All equipment is provided for the course. Fees: $37/child residents, $41/child non-residents.

Adult Climbing Class (ages 18 & up)
7-9 p.m., fourth Monday of every month (check RockEnroll for course dates).

Adults will learn to properly put on a harness, tie into the rope and belay for a partner. You can then use our facilities without the aid of an instructor on our Open Climbing Nights, held every Tuesday. All equipment is provided. Fees: $22/adult residents, $27/adult non-residents.
  

Party or Group Registration Information

Hours 
Your scheduled event reserves the entire climbing gym for your group. Groups are scheduled Saturday 1-3 p.m., 4-6 p.m., and Sunday 1-3 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. Evening hours are available on a limited basis.

Scheduling
We recommend that you book your party 2 weeks in advance. A $75 deposit is required to secure your reservation. The deposit is refundable, less a $15 administration fee, up to 14 days prior to your party date.

Age Requirement
The indoor wall offers challenges for people of all ages and abilities—from beginners to even the most competent and skilled climbers. A group climbing event is ideal for ages 7 and older.

Party Packages Prices

Regular Party Party minimum of eight participants with a maximum of 15. Price includes a two-hour reservation, basic instruction, climbing, and all equipment needed to climb. Resident status applies to person booking party. $150 for 8 participants/resident $200 for 8 participants/non-resident $20 for each additional participant Non-Profit Party Party minimum of eight participants with a maximum of 15. Price includes a two-hour reservation, basic instruction, climbing, and all equipment needed to climb. Resident rate applies to organization based in City of Rockville. $125 for 8 participants/resident $175 for 8 participants/non-resident $15 for each additional participant

Directions to the Rockville Climbing Gym

BY GPS: Use latitude and longitude when using GPS devices to reach the gym. N 39.08759  W 77.12853

BY MAP: 860 Avery Road, Rockville, MD 20850.  It is located on the grounds of Rockville's Civic Center Park behind Glenview Mansion.

BY BUS: Start at the Rockville Metro Station. Take bus 45 towards Twinbrook and get off at the Edmonston Drive stop. Walk through Civic Center Park. Pass the Theatre, pass the mansion, as you're walking down Avery road behind the mansion, look at the low warehouses facing the street. Over a set of double doors you will see a tiny sign that reads, "Climbing Gym".

Local Directions: From I-270 & Route 28: Take Exit 6/Montgomery Avenue off of I-270. Proceed east on Route 28, cross Route 355 and follow Route 28 east (turns left at first light beyond Route 355). Travel four blocks to Baltimore Road, turn right, go three blocks to Edmonston Drive, turn left and Civic Center Park entrance is immediately on your right. Once inside the park, pass the mansion and continue downhill. Park in the parking lot on the left side of road halfway down the hill. Entrance to the climbing gym is through the door facing the driveway on the side of the Recreation Facilities Building.
