Planning Application, Zoning and Permit Fee Schedule

 

Annexation Petition

$1,000 plus $50 per acre or fraction thereof. No fee limit.

Application to Close and Abandon a Public Way

Where area abandoned is located within a one-family detached residential zone:

Where area abandoned is located within any other zone:

Cluster Development Application

$3,000 per plan plus $50 per dwelling.

No fee limit.

Amendment to approved plan

Comprehensive Planned Development Application

Concept Plan Application:
$7,500 plus $100 per acre or part thereof. (Each application must be accompanied by a sign fee of $20.)  

Detailed Plan Application:
$3,500 plus $15 for each dwelling unit, plus $15 for each 1,000 square feet of nonresidential building floor area or fraction thereof.

Modification of Concept Plan Application or Detailed Plan Application:
$2,000 plus $25 for each dwelling unit, plus $100 for each 1,000 square feet of nonresidential building floor area or fraction thereof.  

Final Record Plat Application
(Separate application and fee for each plat)

For recordation of one existing one-family detached residential lot

Historic District Permit Application
No charge.

Map Amendment (Zoning) Application
Each application must be accompanied by a sign fee of $20.

Where proposed rezoning is for a one-family detached, residential zone with a density of 4 units per acre or less:

 $1,500 plus $100 per acre or fraction thereof. No fee limit

Where the proposed rezoning is for any other zone:

$3,000.00 plus $200 per acre or fraction thereof. No fee limit 

Nonprofit organizations  

A private, nonprofit organization shall be charged one-half of the fee established for any application covered by this schedule.

Planned Residential Unit and Residential Townhouse Development Application

Detailed Planning Application:
$3,000 plus $50 for each dwelling unit, plus $20 for each 1,000 square feet, or part thereof, of gross floor area of nonresidential buildings (excluding community and recreational uses).  No fee limit.

Exploratory Application:
$4,000 plus $50 for each dwelling unit.  No fee limit. (Each application shall be accompanied by a sign fee of $20) 

Initial Application (for RTH only): $5,000

Modification of Exploratory, or Detailed Application (excluding modifications to common areas requested by homeowners' associations):
$750 plus $15 for each dwelling unit, plus $5 for each 1,000 square feet, or part thereof, of gross floor area in non-residential buildings.  No fee limit.

Occupancy Permit Application

One-family detached, attached or semi-detached

$65

All other uses

$100 per 5,000 gross square feet or fraction thereof

There shall be an additional fee of $50 for each additional inspection required because of failure to comply with the various ordinance requirements before occupancy.

$5,000 per plan plus $10 per dwelling unit and $10 per 1,000 sq. ft. of non-residential building floor area.

Sign Permit Application

Non-illuminated signs:

One Dollar fifty-cents ($1.50) per sq.ft.

Temporary Permit Fees

Fees for temporary permits under Chapter 25 of the Rockville City Code, Section 25-296:

$100 per six (6) month permit period

 


A cash bond in the amount of $1,000 shall be required before issuance of a temporary permit described in 19.a.above.
