Public service is always an honor and a privilege. The assets I can bring to your service as a Councilmember are my commitment to the Rockville community and my professional financial experience. I serve as the Twinbrook Citizens Association Outreach Chair. My recent focus has been on working with our seniors to access the Homeowners Property Tax Credit program. Almost every issue that comes before the Rockville City Council involves numbers, and you need a councilperson on your side who understands what those numbers mean in real terms. As a Director of Finance and as a Controller, I have helped Directors of not-for-profits govern and formulate policies for their organizations. If elected I would bring that experience to the City Council to craft policies that will be financially innovative and use our resources fairly to provide needed city services for all citizens. We must use our tax dollars to fund the full range of services mandated by principles of good government, rather than subsidize development or other special interests. Remember, it’s not the City’s money, it’s your money that came from your pocket as taxes and fees. We must always remember that the primary purpose of our City government is to enhance and protect Rockville’s most important assets: its livable, affordable, and historic neighborhoods. I do not have any ties to special interests nor to the development industry. I only have the interests of the residents of Rockville at heart. I would be honored by your vote on November 6th. |
