My husband Jean and I moved to Rockville five years ago to start our family – and 21 months ago, we welcomed our daughter Leila. As a first-generation American married to a naturalized citizen, it was important for us to raise our daughter in a multicultural city, built on strong family values. As your Councilmember, my key issues will be Growth Management, Public Safety, Fiscal Responsibility and Leadership while addressing environmental reform, Rockville’s infrastructure and out-reach to diverse communities. I served in the Clinton White House and at the Pentagon, working with the same economic minds who gave America a balanced budget and a projected $4 trillion surplus. When I became President of Cambridge Walk I HOA in Twinbrook, I employed the same fiscal discipline because we were nearly bankrupt. Within three years, without raising dues or implementing assessments, I led our association from red to black with a healthy balance to draw from. I also negotiated with JBG regarding Twinbrook Station, to ensure our community's best interests were not only heard but met. For the Secretary of Defense, I diplomatically negotiated protocol with foreign dignitaries and during visits to war-torn theaters, and will use diplomacy to bring civility to the Council. I implemented environmental programs at Earth Day Network and will create initiatives to make Rockville a leader in environmental reform. As your Councilmember, I will reach out to you, listen to your concerns and address your needs. Remember, on November 6, Vote Tracy PC for City Council.
