These updated building codes apply to all new construction and certain major renovations, of both commercial and residential buildings. The ordinance adopts the latest editions (2009) of the International Codes and the 2008 National Electrical Code, and adds a new article, Article XIV, titled, "Green Building Regulations." Additionally, several "green" provisions, such as increased energy and water efficiency requirements, have been introduced, through amendment, into the 2009 International Codes.

The adopted code is available below. Copies are available for review at the Inspection Services Counter at City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue.
