Weed Warriors

Thanks for your interest in working as a Weed Warrior in the City of Rockville!

The City of Rockville has a few special circumstances that are not covered in Montgomery County’s Weed Warrior training.  Please review the following for Rockville-specific invasive species removal information.

When to Pull in Rockville:
Please call or e-mail Rockville Environmental Management Division (EMD) staff BEFORE you begin any pulling activities.  Some parks in Rockville are “no-pull” parks and others require permission before weed removal begins. In addition, all plant detritus must be bagged and a pick-up site and time must be arranged.  Due to these additional requirements, EMD staff needs a 5-business-day notice to coordinate activities.  Please plan accordingly.

Where to Pull in Rockville:
EMD staff will provide you with a list of locations that are in need of invasive removal.

What to Do With Waste:
EMD staff will assist you in coordinating the delivery/pick-up of empty bags and arranging a drop off location for detritus filled bags.

How to Record Hours:
Once you have completed your pull, please do not report your hours to Montgomery County’s Weed Warriors; rather, send your name, date of pull and hours spent to environment@rockvillemd.gov.  Please indicate Weed Warrior Hours in the subject line.

Thanks again for your part in helping to reduce invasive species in Rockville Parks!
