The City of Rockville’s Department of Recreation and Parks offers a wide variety of rental facilities to accommodate special events of all types. Locations are available for wedding ceremonies, receptions, meetings, conferences, parties, showers, anniversaries, as well as trade shows, performances, picnic and athletic activities.

Climbing Gym

Climb high into the sky! Groups of all ages can take a rock climbing adventure at the City’s unique indoor Climbing Gym facility that features walls 20 feet high. Rental packages are available for birthdays and group adventures, scout, school and youth groups, as well as office parties and adult social groups for up to 15 persons. From beginners to experts, the Climbing Gym welcomes people with all experience. Professional instructors are available to make your event safe and fun.

Croydon Creek Nature Center

Have a party on the wild side! Croydon Creek Nature Center offers nature themed birthday parties. Meet a snake, turtle and toad and take a hike through the woods. Parties can be held Tuesday through Saturday, 9 am – 5 pm. These parties book fast. For best availability call two to three months in advance.

F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre

The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre is a 500-seat performing arts venue available for concerts, performances, awards shows and graduations, as well as trade shows and product presentations during the week. Video projection and other technical support is available. Guests can enjoy a spacious lobby for light refreshments and/or displays as well as a large 60 x 90 foot room available below the theater perfect for larger receptions, rehearsals, break-out space and meetings.

Glenview Mansion

The mansion is a picturesque setting for weddings and receptions, bar and bat mitzvahs, birthdays, anniversaries and other parties. Lincoln Park Community Center

The Lincoln Park Community Center is a recently renovated building that offers three choices or rental rooms for your party or meeting needs. The gymnasium holds up to 200 people and is great for larger banquet style parties or sports practices. The center’s multi-purpose room accommodates parties, meetings, or even small scale fitness programs for less than 50 people. The library is perfect for small meetings or conferences serving less than 20 people and has a 52” television with DVD/VCR combo available for use.

Rockville Senior Center

Tucked away in a quiet Rockville neighborhood, the Rockville Senior Center offers four rooms of various sizes for your special event. The Center can accommodate many uses from a small bridal shower for 10 to a fully catered wedding reception for 160. The rates are very affordable and include savings packages for rentals of six or more hours in length.

Skate Park

The City of Rockville Skate Park is a 10,300 square foot skating area constructed with “Skatelite Pro,” for in-line skaters, skateboarders, and free style bikers. The park is available on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. for birthday parties and special events. Picnic area, exclusive use of Skate Park, and birthday shirt. Safety gear is provided.

Thomas Farm Community Center

Looking for a location to hold your child's next birthday, a meeting of your community group or a private business event? The Thomas Farm Community Center's brand new multi-purpose rooms and gymnasium can be configured to meet your needs and are available to rent hourly. The multi-purpose rooms can be combined into one 1,600 square foot room or divided by a movable wall into two separate rooms. The rooms are available for rent together or separately. Both rooms have access to an outdoor patio and modern kitchenette. The kitchenette has microwaves, a refrigerator, an ice machine and a warming oven. The full-size gymnasium has a hardwood floor with markings for full court basketball, two half courts for basketball, two volleyball courts and three badminton courts. The gymnasium also has bleachers along one wall for spectators.

Twinbrook Community Recreation Center

Twinbrook Community Recreation Center features a multi-purpose room available for use primarily on weekends for parties, meetings, showers or dance rehearsals for less than 50 people. Party decorating packages for 20 people can be purchased. Amenities include a small kitchenette with refrigerator and sink. Chairs and tables also are available. For an additional fee, half the gym can be rented for athletic play. During the summer months, the gym can be rented for athletic activities on Saturday evenings.
