Good Neighbor Award

Do you know a family member, friend or neighbor who helps to enhance your neighborhood? Maybe they have performed a good deed or provide a service that you feel deserves recognition. You can honor them with a nomination for the Good Neighbor Award.

The Good Neighbor Award recognizes the ongoing efforts of Rockville residents who are making exceptional contributions to improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods. The program is designed to honor those who make a difference in our community without seeking or receiving recognition for their service. Nominees are sought in two divisions: adult and youth.

A three person panel will select three finalists from the pool of candidates. All finalists will be honored at a special ceremony in September. Nominations must be received no later than August 1 of each year.

The Good Neighbor Award is the City’s way of recognizing the residents who are committed to preserving, maintaining and improving the quality of life in their neighborhoods and our community.

The 2009/2010 Good Neighbor Awards ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m. at the Glenview Mansion at Rockville Civic Center Park, 603 Edmonston Drive.

For more information on the Good Neighbor Award, call Rocio Estrada at 240-314-8345.
