With the dizzying array of environmental information out there, it is often hard to get a straight answer on the issues that matter.  The Environment Commission set up the Outreach Committee to do just that.  Not only does this group look for the best ways to convey messages to residents and local businesses and lead or participate in environmental summits and third party events such as Earth Day, Science Day and Hometown Holidays, it also gathers information about environmental concerns and priorities in Rockville, promotes “green” successes through environmental excellence awards, and networks with sister governmental and environmental groups to enhance impact.  

About the Outreach Committee
The Outreach Committee is a sub-group of the full Environment Commission.  Unlike the Commission, which consists of nine Rockville residents appointed by the Mayor & Council for three-year terms, the Outreach Committee is a volunteer group and is open to anyone who lives or works within Rockville and is in interested in helping to promote environmental outreach, education and recognition.  The group is lead by two Commissioners - David Davis and Beri Kravitz.  To learn more about the Committee, or if you are interested in attending a meeting, please contact the staff liaison Jake Marren at (240) 314-8876 or Jmarren@rockvillemd.gov.

Outreach Committee Meetings
Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of the month starting at 7:30pm (excpetions are noted with a ** below).  Meetings are typically held at one of several conference rooms at City Hall (111 Maryland Ave.).  Check individual meeting agenda for the exact location; meeting locations are also posted upon entry to City Hall.
