I. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

II. EVALUATIONS FOR HISTORICAL, ARCHITECTURAL OR CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE:

A. 22 Martins’ Lane (Ross/Powell House)
B. 113 Forest Avenue

The Historic District Commission will review these sites and structures for architectural and/or historical significance to the City. It will receive testimony and comments from interested parties. The record may be held open for a period of time and a decision made at the next meeting. A recommendation of significance to the City of Rockville Mayor and Council will be rendered.

III. APPLICATIONS FOR CERTIFICATE OF APPROVAL

Applicant: Rex F. Murdock
Address: 214 West Montgomery Avenue
Request: Retroactive approval for 8 X 10 foot storage shed in rear yard and installation of additional 12 X 16 foot shed in rear yard.

IV. DISCUSSION / UPDATES

A. Discussion on Rockville Cemetery Guidelines and tree and shrub issues.
B. Update on designations in progress:

1. Chestnut Lodge/Waldorf School - Done
2. Carver
3. 115 Park Avenue (On hold for discussions with owner)
4. MAP Amendments filed: 550 Reading, 701 Grandin, 119 Forest; M&C public hearings scheduled for 10/21
5. M&C authorization to file map amendment for 305 Lincoln Ave., 10/14

C. Agenda for public workshop on historic district process and benefits Thursday, October 24.

The HDC adjourns at 10:00 PM unless extended by the Chair.


Maryland law and the Historic District Commission's Rules of Procedure regarding ex parte (extra-record) communications require all discussion, review, and consideration of certain matters take place only during the Commission's consideration of the item at a scheduled meeting. Telephone calls and meetings with Commission members in advance of the meeting are not permitted. Written communication will be directed to appropriate staff members for response and included in briefing materials for all members of the Commission.
