Welcomed new commissioners - Peggy Metzger and Frank Hilton

Approved (4-3 with Douglas, Meyer and Mullican against) Use Permit USE99-0595, Federal Realty Investment Trust - to convert a retail store (Hallmark) to a restaurant (Hiro Sushi) and to convert a storage area to expand Giuseppi's at 213 and 217 N. Washington St.

Approved (4-2-1 Douglas and Boebel against, Giammo abstained) request to allow above ground transformer at Twinbrook Square Shopping Center at 1800 Rockville Pike to serve a Hearth USA store.

Recommended approval (7-0) to the Board of Appeals of Special Exception SPX98-0269 to allow a mechanical and self serve carwash facility in the northeast corner of Chapman and Bou Avenues.

Deferred the presentation and discussion on the Personal Wireless Services Ordinance until the June 9 meeting (consultant will be in town for the Industry Forum on the 8th) due to the late hour.
