Adequate Public Facilities Ordinance Committee

Meeting Schedule

Purpose
On December 15, 2010, the Rockville Planning Commission, pursuant to its Rules of Procedure, appointed an advisory committee of resident and business community members to conduct a general review of the City's Adequate Public Facilities Ordinance (APFO), which is Article 20 of the Zoning Ordinance, and the Adequate Public Facilities Standards (APFS), which was adopted by the Mayor and Council on November 1, 2005. The commission has determined that the needs of Rockville are best served by an evaluation of the APFO and APFS conducted through vigorous public discussion, review by a focused panel, and with an analysis and recommendations made to the Planning Commission at the conclusion of the committee's work.

Committee Membership
In its Resolution creating the advisory committee, the Planning Commission determined that the committee will consist of nine members who represent a cross-section of the governmental, business and resident interests in the City. The committee will meet in open session, with meetings conducted by a chairperson appointed by committee members. The committee is expected to develop an evaluation plan and meet on a schedule adopted by the committee, and will elicit input from the public and invite expert testimony. City staff will provide consultation and appropriate support. The committee members are: Jason Anthony, Dennis Cain, Julie Carr, Tom Gibney, Sean Hart, Soo Lee-Cho, Charles Littlefield, Roald Schrack and Eric Siegel.

Important Dates
The first meeting of the advisory committee was on January 27, 2011 at 7 p.m. at Rockville City Hall. See the meeting schedule for future dates.
