The minutes were approved as presented.

Re: Staff Report

The Board visited the offices of the Community Services Division, newly reorganized in the Recreation and Parks Department, as of July 1, 2006.  Community Services Manager Mary Lou Jacobs briefed the Board on the work priorities of the Community Services Division.

Re: College Gardens

The College Gardens Park Task Force, which is working with the City to design a storm water management pond in College Gardens Park, is looking for a volunteer member from the Recreation and Park Advisory Board.  The Task Force will have their next meeting on Thursday, July 13th at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.  Kate Savage volunteered for this position on behalf of the Board.

Larry Eason stated that Chip Boylan gave an outstanding presentation at the Mayor and Council Public Hearing held in June, stating the position of the Recreation and Park Advisory Board in opposition to nomination of 16100 Frederick Road - King Farm Farmstead Park - as a local historic district.

Re:  Tour of Town Center

The Board took a tour through the construction site of the new Town Square.

 Re:  Adjournment

The meeting was adjourned at 7 p.m.  The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 27 at Lincoln Park Community Center beginning at 7 p.m.
