A. Budget: We took in $3,788.55 and spent $2,775.26 for the month of September. We designated $2,000.00 for Lorraine Schack, Sr. Social Services Coordinator, to use for the purchase of books for English class but she only needs $1,000.00. Our profit from Duplicate Bridge will be down since they have moved the Monday and Friday games to another site. This will amount to an approximate loss of $9,486.00 for the rest of the year. We will only get $2,160.00 for the rest of the year. We sold 6 cookbooks and would like the closet re-arranged so that the assembled books are easier to get to. Ron needs gift certificates for the Bingo games in November. Kathy Neale, Sr. Commission Liaison, made a motion to purchase four $25.00 gift certificates from Safeway. B. Ways & Means: A meeting was held for the upcoming Holiday Bazaar on September 28. There was discussion about raising the volunteers lunch ticket from $1.50 to $2.00 but the board decided not to raise the amount. Some board members felt that we should reward the volunteers for helping out that day and some felt that when you volunteer you should not expect to get money toward your lunch. We need to mark on the coupons that volunteers can only use them between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. We have sold 16 craft tables. We have received the following donations for the raffle: quilt donated by the Piecemakers, Gift bag from “The Papery”, Sunday Brunch for Two from “Normandie Farms”, $25 Gift Certificate from Sushi Damo, 2 - $25 Brunch Certificates from O’Donnells, Magruder’s “Lettuce Us Cook For You” Gift Certificate, Trader Joe’s Gift Bag, Ben & Jerry’s Free Ice Cream Certificates (5), Blockbuster Free Movie Rentals (5) and a $25 Recreation & Parks Gift Certificate.
