1. Announcements and Public Comment Period a. Ms. Sanders provided Commissioners with two Montgomery County Accident Reconstruction Reports. Chair Oberg requested Commissioners’ comments within two weeks.
2. Review and Approve August 2007 Meeting Minutes a. The August meeting minutes were approved.
3. Commissioner Appointments a. The status of applications for the vacant Commissioner position was discussed.
4. Development Review – Projects Update a. Mr. Tannir briefed the Commission on the St. Raphael’s Parish School addition to the St. Raphael’s Catholic Church property. b. Commissioners reached consensus to recommend that the applicant present at an upcoming Traffic and Transportation Commission meeting and that materials be provided to the Commission in advance of the presentation. Mr. Tannir will schedule an applicant presentation and provide materials to Commissioners in advance.
5.Top Ten Intersections a. Ms. Sanders outlined methodology used in determining Top Ten Intersections draft. b. At the suggestion of Commissioner Filemyr, Commissioners agreed that a “watch list” of intersections should be developed for those intersections in the previous Top Ten Intersections list that appear on the 2007 Top Ten Intersections list. c. Commissioners reached consensus that City police should be invited to a future Traffic and Transportation Commission meeting to discuss accident reporting, enforcement and accident prevention.
6. Staff Report and Updates (Weekly) a. Commissioners reviewed the weekly staff report. b. Ms. Sanders provided an update on the Veirs Mill Road and Broadwood Drive SHA project.
7. Additional Items for Discussion a. Commissioners recommended that staff send copies of the Montgomery County Accident Reports to Commissioners absent from the meeting. Chair Oberg noted for the record his concern that such reports are not being used in the cause of preventing future accidents. Accident reports were sent.
