Anne M. Robbins, 66, is serving her fifth-term as a Rockville councilmember. She has been a long-time civic activist in Rockville and Montgomery County.

Robbins is a member of the Montgomery County Chapter of the Maryland Municipal League. She serves as vice chair of the Human Services Policy Committee of the Washington Metropolitan Area Council of Governments (COG).

Robbins has been an advocate for strengthening Rockville's neighborhoods and a major supporter of programs for Rockville's senior citizens. In March 2004, Robbins testified in Annapolis in support of House Bill 1517 that would help fund the proposed Rockville Youth and Senior Recreation Center in West Rockville.

Prior to being elected to the Mayor and Council, Robbins did library consultation work for the Montgomery County Council. Her previous work experience includes teaching in Montgomery County, working for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and working for Montgomery County government.

Robbins’s public service and volunteer work have included advising on First Lady Rosalynn Carter’s Mental Health Commission, and serving on the Board of Directors of the Rockville Community Ministries, the F. Scott Fitzgerald Commemorative Committee, and the Twinbrook Library Advisory Committee.

Robbins has a bachelor’s degree in education from Pennsylvania State University and a master's degree in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship at Syracuse University.

Robbins and her husband, Dave, a former Rockville councilmember, have been residents of Rockville for more than 35 years. Their children, Sean and Brennan, have both graduated from Rockville high schools.
