Recommended Architectural Design Guidelines for the Exterior Rehabilitation of Buildings in Rockville's Historic Districts
This book was adopted by the Historic District Commission to inform owners of the types of work that are encouraged and discouraged for historic buildings. It provides guidance on alterations to windows, doors, porches, streetscapes, roofs and other building components. It is available for free from the Historic Preservation Office at City Hall.

Rockville History
Take an armchair tour of Rockville from 1801 to 1850 with the VHS video “Exploring Rockville’s Past” produced by the City of Rockville Channel 11 staff. The 25-minute program follows the 1801-1850 walking tour book to 16 sites that tell stories of people, families, and life in early Rockville through narration and photographs. The video is $10 and comes with the tour booklet. It can be purchased at the City Clerk’s office at City Hall.
