Budget Public Hearing Notice

Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of Rockville will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as it may be heard, in the Council Chambers, Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland, in connection with the preparation and development of the FY 2018 budget.   

The Mayor and Council is seeking public input for the development and creation of the
FY 2018 Operating and Capital Improvements Program budget.  

Persons wishing to testify at the hearing are asked to call 240-314-8280 before 4:00 p.m. on the date of the hearing to have their names placed on the speakers’ list.

Chapter 10 of the Rockville City Code entitled "Floodplain Management"

Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of Rockville, Maryland, will conduct a public hearing on Monday, November 21, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as it may be heard in the Council Chamber, Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland, in connection with an ordinance to repeal in its entirety and re-enact Chapter 10 of the Rockville City Code entitled “Floodplain Management” so as to comply with new Federal and State floodplain management provisions and to create a formal permitting process to track floodplain activities.

The purpose is to update the City’s Floodplain Management regulations so the City and its property owners may continue to participate in the National Flood Insurance Program. Chapter 10 generally prohibits new development within the Special Flood Hazard Area (the area inundated by flood waters during the 100-year storm event). In necessary instances where floodplain construction is allowed, Chapter 10 specifies design and construction requirements and the approval process.    

The Mayor and Council is soliciting public input before concluding its consideration of the proposal to revise Chapter 10. More detailed information can be found on file in the City Clerk's Office at Rockville City Hall or by contacting Lise Soukup, Principal Environmental Engineer, at , or 240-314-8874. Project Plan Application PJT2015-00005, JNP Chestnut Lodge, LLC

Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of Rockville, Maryland, will conduct a public hearing on Monday, December 5, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as it may be heard in the Mayor and Council Chamber, Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland, in connection with Project Plan Application   PJT2015-00005, JNP Chestnut Lodge, LLC,  applicant.

Said application is a proposal to amend the previously approved Planned Residential Unit PRU2005-00022, so as to allow for 6 townhouse units instead of 7 multifamily units. The applicant has also requested a height waiver to allow for a maximum height of 52 feet where 40 feet is required in the equivalent zone of RMD-15.  The property is located at 500 West Montgomery Avenue, also known as Parcel ‘I”, Block A, of the Chestnut Lodge subdivision, also known as the site of the former Main Lodge building.

Bikeway Master Plan

Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of Rockville, Maryland, will conduct a public hearing on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as it may be heard in the Council Chamber, Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland, in connection with the Bikeway Master Plan. The plan guides planning of the City’s bicycle facility network, laying the groundwork for an expansion over the next decade to more than 34 miles dedicated to bicycles. The 2016 Bikeway Master Plan offers the opportunity to shape the way people get around Rockville for years to come.
