500 W. Montgomery Avenue as "Chestnut Lodge Park"

The Mayor and Council will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. on the Recreation and Park Advisory Board recommendation to name the property located at 500 W. Montgomery Avenue as “Chestnut Lodge Park.”

Persons wishing to testify at the hearing are asked to call 240-314-8280 before 4:00 p.m. on the date of the hearing to have their names placed on the speakers’ list.

KID Museum

Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of Rockville, Maryland, will conduct a public hearing on Monday, April 30, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as it may be heard in the Council Chamber, Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland, in connection with a proposal to partner with Montgomery County Maryland to purchase a building to allow the KID Museum to locate in the City of Rockville.  The proposal includes an initial expenditure by the City in an amount not to exceed $4.5 million to purchase a building.  The proposal also includes potential ongoing maintenance and repair expenses of approximately 40% of those expenses.  

More detailed information on the proposal can be found on file in the City Clerk's Office at Rockville City Hall.  Persons wishing to testify at the hearing are asked to call (240) 314-8280, before 4:00 p.m. on the day of the hearing to place their names on the speakers' list.

PJT2018-00009 & MAP2017-00117 

Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of Rockville, Maryland, will conduct a public hearing on Monday, May 14, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as it may be heard in the Mayor and Council Chamber, Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland, in connection with Project Plan Application PJT2018-00009, Mayor and Council of Rockville, Applicant, and Map Amendment Application MAP2017-00117, Mayor and Council of Rockville, Applicant.

Said Project Plan Application will amend the previously approved Planned Residential Unit PRU2005-00022, to remove Parcels A, B, & I from the Chestnut Lodge Planned Development. Said Map Amendment Application is a local map amendment application and requests the rezoning of Parcels A, B, & I from the PD Zone to the Park Zone (PZ).  Parcels A and B are unimproved land previously owned by The Chestnut Lodge Community Association (the Homeowners Association) and are adjacent to Parcel I. Parcel I, is located at 500 West Montgomery Avenue, and is also known as the site of the former Main Lodge building.  

More detailed information on the above can be found in the project file maintained in the office of the Department of Community Planning and Development Services in Rockville City Hall. Anyone planning to testify at the hearing should call the City Clerk’s Office at 240-314-8280 before 4:00 p.m. on the day of the hearing to place their name on the speaker’s list.
