During the annual Rockville Holiday Drive, with the help of our donors and volunteers, the Community Services Division collects and distributes Thanksgiving meals in November and toys and gifts in December to hundreds of children and families in Rockville.

How you can help: Make a contribution
  • Purchase canned food or new toys
  • Donate $20 gift certificates to Giant or Target
  • Send a tax-deductible contribution (checks may be made payable to the Rockville Holiday Drive Fund):
                 111 Maryland Avenue, 1st floor
                 Rockville, MD 20850
  • New this year: donate online! Click the button below, and on the new page click the bright green "Donations" tab. Click "Rockville Holiday Drive Fund" and choose your desired donation amount (registration required).

How you can help: Volunteer
  • Assist with sorting and packing food for Thanksgiving
  • Organize a canned food drive
  • Sort toys and assist recipient families at the December Toy Shop
  • Organize a toy drive to collect new, unwrapped toys
Please drop off food and toys at Rockville City Hall or any City of Rockville community center. Food contributions must be received no later than Thursday, November 16, and toys must be received by Thursday, December 14. If you would like to sign up to volunteer, please contact Sarah Dickinson by email or phone (240-314-8317).

Last year, the Holiday Drive provided:
  • Thanksgiving meal baskets and/or gift cards to 497 households
  • Thanksgiving dinner to 105 seniors
  • New toys for 518 children in the Secret Toy Shop
  • Gift cards for 225 teens in December
  • Sponsorship for 68 families, with individual gifts for each family member

The continued success of the Rockville Holiday Drive depends on a collaborative partnership with local churches, schools, civic organizations, service clubs, businesses, non-profits, and individuals working together to make the holidays special for the less fortunate. On behalf of the City of Rockville and the residents served by the Holiday Drive, thank you for your support!
