Learn more about the village concept, access resources and meet with facilitator, Trish Evans!

Trish Evans had a successful career as a film and video producer before transitioning into senior healthcare. She has spent the past ten years as Community Liaison for two local Nursing Centers.  She has experience in healthcare transitions, marketing and outreach, and most importantly, creating and developing community relationships.

From a healthcare perspective, Trish knows how important home and community support can be to vulnerable individuals. She looks forward to helping the Village Movement in Rockville be a stellar example of how it can impact so many lives.

She is proud to have grown up in Rockville, graduating RHS, Montgomery College and James Madison University. She and her husband Fred have two daughters.

What is a Village?

Villages are a local, volunteer-led, grassroots organizations that aim to support Rockville neighbors who choose to age-in-place.  They foster social connections through activities and events and coordinate volunteer help at home using a neighbor helping neighbor model.

Each village is unique and reflects the character, interests and needs of the community that creates it. The village leadership decides what it would offer and how it would operate.

Who Creates the Village?

People like you!  Villages are created by residents of the community, people who have a vision for an improved quality of life for all.  Every new Village starts with a vision and with a dedicated core of individuals ready and willing to make that vision a reality.  This is not one person's job but a community effort.
