What We Do
The Zoning Section of the City's Planning and Zoning Division interprets and administers the Rockville Zoning Ordinance through development review policies and procedures.

Zoning regulations serve to create and maintain the character of the city by regulating the allowable uses and development standards for each piece of land in the city, including the types of land uses that can be located in different areas of the city; the allowable density of development; the size and height of the buildings; parking and landscape requirements; and the layout of buildings and the site.
