Utility Problems? Call City's 24-Hour Hotline First
If there is a problem with your water or sewage, your first call should always be to the City of Rockville. The City's Department of Public Works has a 24-hour emergency number that will advise whether it is a City issue or if you should contact a plumber..

For more information, view the Sewer Backup Guide.

Check Your Homeowner's Insurance
The City also advises residents to review their homeowners insurance policy on a regular basis. It is always a good idea to check provisions of your policy to ensure that your home is protected, especially if conditions of your home may have changed since the original policy was enacted. For example, many people are not aware of the opportunity to purchase a sewer backup rider as part of their insurance. In most policies the fee is small and well worth the investment.
