TapIt- Find Free Water
TapIt program logo
Your dollar goes a long way when it comes to tap water.
For a dollar, you could refill a 20 oz sports bottle from a Rockville faucet over 1,300 times.
That savings is good for the environment and your wallet.
So spread the word and think before you drink!

Find Free Rockville Tap Water On-the-Go!
Water utilities throughout the Metropolitan Washington region (including Rockville and WSSC) are partnering with TapIt to bring together a regional network of businesses to provide the public with free access to tap water. Now you can enjoy Rockville’s clean drinking water with free water refills any time you bring your reusable water bottle into participating locations.

What is TapIt?
The TapIt network was originally created in 2008 as a way to provide clean drinking water to people on-the-go who carry their own reusable water bottle. The nationwide network spans 28 states and includes more than 750 locations.

  • Local businesses can participate in TapIt by signing up as a partner to serve as locations for the public to stop by and refill their reusable water bottles at no cost. Partnering businesses will be included on a map and featured on the TapIt searchable website and tools. Participation promotes tap water, protects the environment, saves the public money, and provides a free marketing opportunity.
  • Residents can find participating TapIt establishments to refill reusable water bottles while they are out-and-about with free tap water. They can find TapIt partner locations online, download the iPhone app, or look for the TapIt window decal.
