Volunteer Opportunities Within Community Services
Holiday DriveHoliday Drive volunteer at Secret Toy Shop
During our annual Holiday Drive, with the help of our volunteers and donors, the Community Services Division distributes Thanksgiving meals in November and toys and gifts in December to hundreds of children and families.

Linkages to Learning
Volunteer tutors are needed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Maryvale Elementary School. Volunteers can work any or all of the days available from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. or from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. All are welcome to participate, from teens to grandparents. If you are interested, please call Site Coordinator Lynique Murray at 301-279-8508 or complete the Linkages application.

Mentoring is a one-on-one relationship over a period of time between a youth and an older person who provides consistent support, guidance and concrete help. Being a mentor is a fulfilling opportunity to have a significant positive impact on the life of a young person. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please contact Kate Bouwkamp (240-314-8317) or complete a mentor application. Volunteer mentors are screened and fingerprinted.

Other Opportunities
Additional volunteer opportunities are available through the Montgomery County Volunteer Center.
