Rockville residences and businesses are either serviced by the City of Rockville's water system or the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC).

How do I know who provides my water?
  • Check your water utility bill to see if it is issued by the City or WSSC; or
  • Use the City's interactive Water Service Provider map to search for and locate a service address, then click the map at the address location to view the water service provider.

Rockville Water Production and Distribution Services
More than 46,000 people who live and work in Rockville receive their drinking water from the City's water treatment plant located on the banks of the Potomac River. Each year, the plant produces nearly two billion gallons of water for drinking, washing and watering lawns and gardens. The City's goal is to always provide the residents and businesses we serve with a safe and dependable supply of drinking water.

Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC)

  • Many residents and businesses receive their water from WSSC, including King Farm, College Gardens, Plymouth Woods, as well as portions of Twinbrook, Potomac Woods, Chadsberry, Montrose and Woodley Gardens.
