What We Do
The Rockville Fire Marshal's Office was established in 1997 to provide a higher level of service to the citizens and business community within the City limits. The Fire Marshal's Office is responsible for the enforcement of fire codes during construction and throughout occupancy to ensure a safe environment for residents, visitors and firefighters.

Services We Provide
The Fire Marshal's Office performs many functions, including but not limited to:
  • Conduct plan reviews and inspections of all new construction projects and renovations excluding single family dwelling permits
  • Conduct shop drawing reviews and inspections of fire protection systems
  • Conduct site plan and improvement plan reviews
  • Inspections of existing places of assembly, educational structures, licensed facilities, businesses, etc.
  • Investigate fire code complaints
  • Response to emergency incidents for code related infractions, assess needs for fire department operations, inspect level of damage to necessitate repairs and evaluate fire protection system operation
  • Enforcement of all fireworks laws
