Become a Weed Warrior
Join the efforts of the Montgomery County Weed Warrior program. The Montgomery County Weed Warrior program's goal is to educate citizens about identification and management of non-native invasives (NNIs).

Weed WarriorsWeed Warriors are trained to focus on 17 of the worst invasive plants in the Montgomery County area and are taught proper methods for manual pulling and clean up strategies. Residents will be certified under the existing Montgomery County Weed Warrior program and can then work in Rockville City parks to manually remove NNIs. By partnering with Montgomery County, the City can use an already existing and successful model for the remediation of NNIs.

Please contact Environmental Management prior to any pulling activities.

Some parks in Rockville are “no-pull” parks and others require permission before weed removal begins. In addition, all plant detritus must be bagged and a pick-up site and time must be arranged. Due to these additional requirements, staff needs a 5-business-day notice to coordinate activities.
