Rockville Town Square Stage Construction  to Start Monday, Sept. 29
State-of-the-Art Pavilion Will Replace Temporary Tent

Rockville, Md., Sept. 26, 2008 - The City of Rockville will begin installing a permanent stage in the Town Square Plaza on Monday, Sept. 29. The new craftsman-style pavilion will be an aesthetically pleasing, state-of-the-art venue for concerts and events. Construction will occur daily, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-4 p.m., and is expected to be complete in three weeks.

Portions of the Town Square along Gibbs Street will be fenced in and closed during installation. Most of Town Square, and all of the businesses on the Square, will remain accessible to pedestrians. The City's interactive fountain will be turned off and covered to protect it from construction debris.

Once complete, the stage will be wired for electricity and a permanent sound system will be installed. The permanent pavilion will replace the temporary tent now in place.
