Update:  Rockville Police Release Suspect Composite and Vehicle Photo in Stabbing of U.S. Postal Carrier
Postal Service Offers up to a $25,000 Reward 
 
Composite PhotoROCKVILLE, Md., Dec. 10, 2008 - Rockville City Police have released a computer-generated composite of the man they are looking for in connection with the stabbing of a U.S. Postal carrier Monday, Dec. 8, near the intersection of Halpine Road and Alsace Lane in the Twinbrook area of Rockville.
 
Police are also releasing a photo of a vehicle similar to the one seen leaving the area at the time. Police describe the man as Hispanic, possibly in his 30s and 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black gloves, black knit hat and black pants.
 
The vehicle police believe the suspect got into is described as being possibly a teal or mint green Dodge Neon or similar type vehicle with a spoiler attached to the trunk. The car was driven by an unknown person.
 
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering up to a $25,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of a person responsible for this crime.
 
Wanted PosterA 31-year-old female, who is a U.S. Postal Service carrier, was parked in her mail truck at 2:46 p.m. Monday in the Twinbrook area when the suspect approached her. The suspect showed that he had a knife and attempted to rob the victim. The victim grabbed for the knife and was stabbed in the abdomen. The victim said the suspect spoke Spanish when he announced the robbery.
 
The woman, whose identity is not being released because she is a witness, was taken to a local hospital, where she underwent surgery. She is currently listed in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
 
The Rockville City Police, Criminal Investigation Unit, in cooperation with U.S. Postal Inspectors and Montgomery County Police, are conducting an investigation into the incident.
