Inauguration Day Parking Available in Rockville Town Square
City-Owned Garages Offer Overflow Metro Parking
Rockville, Md., Jan. 8, 2009 - Rockville will provide convenient and affordable parking on inauguration day in the City's three Town Square parking garages. Parking will cost $1/hour between 7 a.m.-7 p.m. with a daily maximum of $10. The garages are located just three blocks from the Rockville Metro Station on Route 355 between Middle Lane and Beall Avenue, on Maryland Avenue between Middle Lane and Beall Avenue, and on North Washington Street between Middle Lane and Beall Avenue.
Federal and state officials expect record-breaking attendance at this year's inauguration event and recommend the use of public transportation for travel into the District of Columbia on Tuesday, Jan. 20. In order to accommodate residents and visitors taking a Metrorail train or bus from the Rockville Metro station, the City will allow overflow parking in more than 750 spaces in the three garages.
On-street parking spaces and the first two levels of the 355 Garage will be reserved for short-term parking to allow residents and visitors access to Town Square businesses.
