Rockville Mayor and Council Mourn Passing of Councilmember Praisner

ROCKVILLE, Md., Jan. 30, 2009 - The Rockville Mayor and Council express their deepest sympathies on the death of Montgomery County Councilmember Donald Praisner. Councilmember Praisner carried on the tradition of great public service that his wife, Marilyn, had achieved in the decades before him.

"We mourn the passing of Don Praisner, who so courageously chose to run to fill the term of his late wife, Marilyn," said Mayor Susan R. Hoffmann. "We still miss Marilyn greatly. That loss is now compounded with the loss of Don. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Praisner family."

Councilmember Praisner lived in Montgomery County for more than 60 years, and was active for many years in community affairs before being elected to the Montgomery County Council.

The Rockville Mayor and Council will miss Councilmember Praisner. Their sympathies go out to his children, grandchildren, colleagues and friends.
