Rockville Announces Hometown Holidays Poster Competition
Designs Due Wednesday, April 8
Rockville, Md., February 4, 2009 - The City of Rockville is proud to announce the Hometown Holidays poster competition. The winning design will be used to promote the 2009 Hometown Holidays festival on posters, in newspaper and magazine print ads and on the City's Web site. Designs are due on Wednesday, April 8.
"We're excited to host the poster competition this year," said Jen Betts, events specialist. "It's a great opportunity for local artists and the City to join together and promote one of our most popular community events."
The contest is open to Montgomery County residents age 18 and older. There is no entry fee or a limit on the number of entries per person.
The competition's winner will receive $500, recognition as the official poster artist and 10 copies of the printed poster.
The poster design should incorporate the nature of street festivals, such as music, dance, celebration, family and friends gathering. The design may also reflect the vibrancy of Rockville Town Center.
Hometown Holidays is Rockville's annual Memorial Day weekend celebration. Featuring a variety of musical guests, children's activities, an art festival and more, the event will be held May 23-25.
