Rockville Councilmember Robbins Appointed to Human Development Policy Committee
Longtime City Councilmember to Serve  with National League of Cities
 
ROCKVILLE, Md., February 9, 2009-Rockville Councilmember Anne M. Robbins has been appointed to the National League of Cities Human Development Policy Committee.

The Human Development Policy Committee is responsible for developing policies on employment and job training, early childhood development, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), unemployment insurances, income support programs, immigration and refugee policy, health and education, equal opportunity and social service.
 
The National League of Cities is a national organization that represents municipalities by strengthening and promoting them as centers of opportunity and leadership.
 
Robbins has served on the committee for the past eight years. In addition to her dedicated service to the National League of Cities, she also serves as vice chairwoman of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Human Services Policy Committee.
 
Robbins is currently serving her fifth term on the Rockville City Council, and has been an advocate for strengthening Rockville's neighborhoods and a supporter of programs for Rockville's senior citizens.
