Hometown Holidays Celebration to Feature City Services and Cable Station
Rockville Channel 11 to Host Live Show Sunday, May 30

ROCKVILLE, MD, May 14, 2010 - Residents and visitors are invited to learn more about the City of Rockville and take part in a live television show during the 22nd Annual Hometown Holidays celebration. The festival will be held 1-10 p.m. Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 29, and Sunday, May 30, in Rockville Town Center. The City will host an activity and information booth on Maryland Avenue near the Town Square both days of the festival, 1-8 p.m. The live television show is set for 4:30-5:30 p.m. Sunday on the Town Square Plaza Stage.

The City booth will offer a chance to learn more about Rockville's services and programs; kid-friendly fun; a free raffle for mini-memberships to the RedGate Municipal Golf Course; a photo station to have your picture taken for the City's website; and 150th anniversary books for purchase.

"This is the third year we're hosting a booth at our biggest community festival," said Marylou Berg, communication manager. "It's going to be a lot of fun and this is a great way for residents to talk directly with the people who deliver important municipal services. We're really looking forward to it."

HTH Live!, a live television show hosted by Rockville Channel 11, will feature a K-9 demonstration by Rockville City Police and dogs; freestyle dancers; interviews with community members; previews of the Sunday night concert by Soul Asylum; and the Mayor and Council Members as roving correspondents. Community members are encouraged to be part of the audience during the television show. Community groups may bring promotional signs to hold in the audience. Some audience members and representatives from community groups may be interviewed or spotlighted during the show.

For more information about the booth or HTH Live! contact the City's Public Information Office at 240-314-8100 or pio@rockvillemd.gov.
