'Ride and Stride for Rockville' Raises Money for Children
Annual Event Gives Option to Bike, Run or Walk on May 30
 
ROCKVILLE, Md., May 20, 2010 -Rockville will host the ninth annual Ride and Stride for Rockville to benefit the Rockville Youth Recreation Fund and Rockville Bike Fund on Sunday, May 30, in Rockville Town Center. The event offers cyclists and runners of all abilities the chance to ride, run or walk and help the community.

Ride and Stride for Rockville is a bike ride and fun run/walk that helps the Rockville Youth Fund to provide financial assistance for children who cannot otherwise participate in City recreation and after-school activities. It also supports the Rockville Bike Fund to support programs that promote bicycling safety in the city.
 
Participants can choose from a 2K or 5K run/walk, or a 12-mile or 28-mile bike ride. Ride and Stride for Rockville is suitable for all ages and all ability levels.
 
Refreshments will be provided and Rockville staff will be available to provide maps and event support. Bring a T-shirt, backpack or cycling shirt to have silk screened with the Ride and Stride for Rockville logo.

Registration is under way. Registration by May 28 is $30, adult; free, children age 13 and under. Registration on the day of the event is $35, adult. Residents can register online with Rock Enroll at http://rockenroll.rockvillemd.gov/ and use activity number 31709.
