Rockville's Outdoor Pool to Open for Summer May 29
 
ROCKVILLE, Md., May 26, 2010 - Rockville residents and visitors looking to beat the heat this summer can stop by the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center beginning Saturday, May 29. The outdoor pool will be open noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the long Memorial Day weekend.

"Spending the day at the pool with family and friends is one the best parts of summer, and we're proud that we have such a great facility for people to enjoy," said Mark Eldridge, center supervisor.
 
The center, 355 Martins Lane, has a new fitness room and indoor and outdoor pools.
 
Outdoors, the facility includes a 50-meter lap pool with one meter and three meter diving boards; a large free-form recreation pool with a waterslide and beach-style entrance; a tot pool with fountains; an interactive "sprayground" with slides, fountains, and waterfalls; locker rooms and a snack bar.
 
Indoors, the center has two heated lap pools: the North Pool has a zero-depth beach entry and six lanes for lap swimming, and the South Pool has six lanes for lap swimming. The center also has a 15-person spa and locker rooms with showers and saunas.
 
Memberships for the facility are available all year. Daily pool passes for City of Rockville residents cost $6 for adults and $4 for children. Daily passes for City of Rockville residents for the pool and the fitness room cost $7 for adults and $5 for children. Child rates will increase by $1 as of Tuesday, June 1. Rates for seniors and visitors who do not reside in the City of Rockville vary and are available on the center's website, www.rockvillemd.gov/swimcenter.
