Residents, Visitors Invited to Tour Rockville's Sculpture on the Grounds

Rockville, Md., May 26, 2010 - Rockville Civic Center Park, 603 Edmonston Drive, welcomes visitors to its free annual Sculpture on the Grounds exhibit Sunday, June 6, through Sunday, Oct. 17. The show, featuring six large-scale sculptures on the grounds of the park, opens with a community reception and walking tour June 6, 1-2:30 p.m.

"The sculptures included in the exhibit are more impressive each year, and this year's selections are truly fantastic," said Betty Wisda, arts programs supervisor. "We think that visitors will be impressed when they see these works in such a beautiful setting."

Rockville Civic Center Park, which includes Glenview Mansion, the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre and Social Hall, the Cottage, the Croydon Creek Nature Center and more than 150 acres of grounds, is the hub of Rockville's main recreational, cultural and social activities.

The Sculpture on the Grounds exhibit is part of the City of Rockville's Art in Public Places program, which provides funding for public art as a cultural enrichment for the community.
