Rockville to Celebrate Montgomery County Heritage Days with African American Walking Tour June 27
 
ROCKVILLE, Md., June 8, 2010 -The City of Rockville will showcase its African American history during a free African American Heritage Walking Tour Sunday, June 27, at 1 p.m. The event, organized by the City's Historic District Commission, will be held in conjunction with the annual Montgomery County Heritage Days celebration. The tour will depart from the front of the Rockville Memorial Library, 21 Maryland Avenue.
 
"Rockville is a community with a full and rich history," said Robin Ziek, historic planner. "As the City celebrates the 150th anniversary of its incorporation this year, we are pleased to be able to invite the public to join us for a small taste of that history."
 
The African American Heritage Walking Tour includes 18 sites and buildings marked by full-color exhibit panels, which highlight the geography of Rockville's African American culture and tell the story of the community.
