WSSC Water Restrictions Affect Some Areas in the City of Rockville
Rockville's Water Service Has Not Been Affected
ROCKVILLE, Md., July 1, 2010 -The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) has issued mandatory water restrictions for all of its customers after inspections showed a failing 96-inch water main in Montgomery County.
While the City of Rockville water system is not affected, many city residents receive their water from WSSC, including all of King Farm, College Gardens, Plymouth Woods, as well as portions of Twinbrook, Potomac Woods, Chadsberry, Montrose and Woodley Gardens.
The City of Rockville has not issued water restrictions for customers of the City's water system.
Residents who have questions about who their water service provider is should look at their water bill to see if it was issued from the City of Rockville or WSSC.
Residents can also go to the City's GIS mapping service and enter their address into the system. Information, including water service provider, will appear in the yellow box at the bottom of the page.
When residents go to the map, which is available at http://maps.rockvillemd.gov/website/rockville_pub/viewer.htm, they should click on the yellow "Locate Address" bar on the top right of the page. Enter an exact street address and click "locate." A yellow box will appear at the bottom of the screen. Scroll down to determine if that address receives City of Rockville water service.
Residents can also view a map of the City of Rockville's water and sewer boundaries at www.rockvillemd.gov/residents/water/wsscboundary.pdf.
WSSC water restrictions may be imposed for up to four days. They include:
