Rockville Crews Work to Repair Damaged Water Main Pipe
City Issues Mandatory Outdoor Water Use Restrictions

ROCKVILLE, Md., July 7, 2010 —City of Rockville Department of Public Works Crews are working to repair a water main pipe that broke this afternoon at the intersection of South Glen Road and Deep Glen Drive.

There is no water service interruption to neighboring residents. Rockville crews have not yet determined the cause of the break to the 24-inch pipe or how long it will take to repair the break.

The City has issued mandatory outdoor water use restrictions and asks residents to reduce their overall water consumption.

Rockville is asking residents to:

WSSC water customers are not affected by the restrictions.

Rockville was alerted to the water main break at about 5:45 p.m. The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) initially responded to the incident around 3:30 p.m., but discovered the main belonged to the City of Rockville.

There are currently traffic interruptions on South Glen Road.
