Rockville Extends Mandatory Water Restrictions
 
ROCKVILLE, Md., July 10, 2010 -The City of Rockville has extended the mandatory water restrictions that have been in place since Wednesday night, because repair crews found another leak while putting the line back in service and are assessing the situation.
 
The mandatory water restrictions will remain in place through noon, Sunday, July 11. Rockville continues to ask its water customers to:

The City asked residents to conserve water after a 24-inch water main pipe burst on July 7. The pipe serves as the only water main connecting the City's Water Treatment Plant and the distribution system. Rockville has been receiving supplemental water from the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC). No Rockville water customers lost water service during the break or repair work.
 
The City's three water tanks are operating at normal capacity. The City serves 13,445 homes in Rockville.
