Rockville Named in the Top 100 Places to Live in Money Magazine
City Also Earns Recognition from U.S. News and World Report

ROCKVILLE, Md., July 12, 2010 -The City of Rockville has been named among the Top 100 Best Places to Live in the August edition of Money Magazine. Rockville was chosen as one of America's best small cities for families because of its recently rebuilt downtown, economic stability and great schools.

Rockville, earning its place at No. 31, took honors for its redeveloped downtown area that offers plenty of shopping and restaurants, as well as community events. It also ranked high in leisure and culture because of the number of varied arts and leisure activities it is close to, including its proximity to museums, golf courses and restaurants.

"This is an honor for Rockville to earn this distinction," said City Manager Scott Ullery. "It's a reflection of the outstanding amenities and services that are readily available to residents, and it's wonderful that Rockville was recognized."

Each year Money Magazine uses a set of criteria to rank the best places to live. This year cities with populations between 50,000 and 300,000 were measured on things such as quality of life, housing, education, leisure and culture and more.

In addition to the Money Magazine designation, Rockville also was selected as an Editors Pick in U.S. News and World Report, which recently released its America's Best Places 2010 list.

The City of Rockville is a 13-square-mile city with a population of about 61,000 and is located 12 miles northwest of Washington, D.C. For more information, go to www.rockvillemd.gov.
