Roads to Close for Annual Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest
25th Annual Festival Set for Saturday, July 17
ROCKVILLE, Md., July 15, 2010 -The Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest will take place on Saturday, July 17, at N. Washington Street and Middle Lane in Rockville Town Center. Several roads will be closed beginning at 3 p.m. in the areas of Town Center, West End, Woodley Gardens and Montgomery College.
The Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest is one of the most popular races of the summer. The event consists of an 8K race, including a wheelchair division, and a 1K fun run, followed by music and refreshments.
The following roads will be closed from approximately 3-11 p.m. Saturday:
The following roads will be closed, beginning at 8:30 p.m. until approximately 11 p.m.:
Left turns will not be allowed beginning at 8: 30 p.m. until approximately 11 p.m. at the following points along northbound Route 355:
Roads will be open to traffic as soon as possible following the race and should allow for standard traffic operation by 11 p.m., with the exception of North Washington Street from Courthouse Square to Beall Avenue.
The 2010 Runfest is the 25th running of Rockville's summer night block party. Sign up now to participate. Cost is $30 until 5 p.m. July 15; $35 from 5-8 p.m. July 16 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 17; and $40 at the race site. The 1K fun run is $10.
The Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest is presented by the Rockville Rotary Club, hosted by the City of Rockville and conducted by the Montgomery County Road Runners Club.
